$1 million for Bhadreshkumar Patel: FBI raises reward for 'most wanted' Indian man accused of killing wife in 2015

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has raised the reward to up to $1,000,000 for information that leads to the arrest of Bhadreshkumar Chetanbhai Patel, a fugitive on its Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list. Patel is an Indian national and was added to the FBI’s most wanted list on 18 April 2017 after he allegedly murdered his wife, 21‑year‑old Palak Patel, at a Dunkin’ Donuts shop in Hanover, Maryland on 12 April 2015. He was 24 at the time, and his wife was 21. The couple were both working the night shift at the shop when the attack occurred.According to the FBI, Patel stabbed Palak multiple times in a back room of the shop just before midnight. He then fled the scene immediately afterwards. After leaving the donut shop, Patel went to the apartment he shared with his wife, grabbed some personal items and cash, and then got a taxi. The driver took him to a hotel near Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey. He checked in early in the morning, wearing only the clothes he had on.Later that morning, Patel left the hotel and was seen at Newark Penn Station. That remains his last confirmed sighting and no confirmed sightings have been made since. The FBI said Patel should be considered armed and extremely dangerous. Investigators believe he may have connections in Canada, India or several US states, including New Jersey, Georgia, Illinois and Kentucky.“We hope this $1 million reward attracts greater attention to our tireless search for Bhadreshkumar Patel and leads to tips we need to provide justice for Palak Patel,” said FBI Baltimore Special Agent in Charge Jimmy Paul. The agent added: “The increased reward reflects the seriousness of Patel’s crime and all the cases on the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list.”The FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list is a long‑running law enforcement initiative designed to enlist the public’s help in locating dangerous fugitives. Since its creation in 1950, many fugitives have been captured due to tips from citizens.Anyone with information about Patel’s whereabouts should contact the FBI through its tip line or via its official website. Authorities have asked the public not to attempt to apprehend him themselves.BhadreshkumarPatel was born on May 15, 1990, in Kantrodi Ta Viramgam, Gujarat, India. He is an Indian national with brown hair and brown eyes, standing 5’9″ tall and weighing around 165 pounds. Patel worked at a donut shop before becoming a fugitive.
