‘Grey’s Anatomy’ fame Trevor Jackson shares his breakout season experience: ‘Didn’t feel like an outcast’

Over the years ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ has introduced a ton of unforgettable characters, and now there’s a new face catching everyone’s attention at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital: Trevor Jackson. He’s not exactly a newbie to acting, but this is a big leap for him. Jackson plays Dr. Wes Bryant, and after popping up in earlier episodes, he’s now a full-time regular. Fans are loving it. For Jackson, this season feels like his “breakout” moment, and he’s not shy about saying so.

A new doctor in the picture: Trevor Jackson on his ‘breakout’ season

For the unversed, ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ kicked off back in 2005, created by Shonda Rhimes, and it’s still going strong. Even after over two decades, the show still holds the knack for shaking things up with new characters, which keeps it from getting stale.Enter Trevor Jackson: the actor-singer first showed up as Dr. Wes Bryant in Season 21, then moved up to series regular in Season 22. Per the show, Dr. Bryant is young, ambitious, and yeah, maybe a bit cocky, but he’s out to prove he belongs at Grey Sloan Memorial. Jackson talked to People about jumping into the Grey’s world during the NAACP Image Awards in Pasadena, and shared that he was both excited and a little starstruck. He admitted that walking onto set for the first time was nerve-wracking. But those jitters didn’t last. The cast and crew were warm and welcoming, and that made all the difference. Jackson told People that he was “excited to be amongst such legendary people,” but once he got to set, everyone was so encouraging that all his nerves just melted away. “That’s all you can ask as an actor,” he said, “to be in a space like that.”Further, Jackson was honest: it’s not like he suddenly became a doctor overnight. “If my knowledge was zero before, it’s maybe at two percent now,” he joked. Half the time, he’s just trying to figure out how to pronounce the medical terms, not what they actually mean.‘Grey’s Anatomy’ is also famous for its wild twists and personal drama, and Jackson doesn’t mind keeping spoilers under wraps. “I’ve always had a good poker face,” he said. He revealed that he actually loves surprises, and even avoids watching trailers for movies!

‘Grey’s Anatomy’: All about the show

If you’re new to the show, here’s the gist: ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ is one of the longest-running medical dramas ever. It started in 2005 and took off right away. The show follows surgeons and interns at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital in Seattle. Sure, there’s always a dramatic medical case, but the real hook is the emotional storytelling, the messy relationships, and all those jaw-dropping twists. After all these years, it still draws a loyal crowd.
