Uma Thurman, who rose to fame after her feature in ‘Kill Bill’, is not that into violence and other things related to it. In a recent interview, the star opened up about her life in the Hollywood industry, including her past and upcoming projects, as well as all of the challenges that she has faced in her career.
Uma Thurman talks about not being into violence
The actress recently sat down for an interview with InStyle Magazine, where she opened up about how, although one of her most popular roles is about an assassin, she is not that into violence. She shared, “I actually don’t particularly like violence. Some people really like it, I don’t like it. When I see artful movement, I can enjoy violence and action because I’m blown away by it the way I would be if I saw an extraordinary dance performance.” Providing more context to the matter, she revealed that for the past 20 years, she has often avoided action and thriller-based roles because they did not sit well with her vision. Talking about the same, the veteran star opened up about how she only likes to work on such themes when they are done like an art piece or a choreographed dance. However, her opinion changed on the matter after she landed the role in ‘The Old Guard 2’ in 2025. She revealed that now she has some criteria when it comes to picking action-based roles. She revealed that she always thinks “motivated? Is it beautiful? Is it genuinely executed?” before accepting anything.‘Pretty Lethal,’ her upcoming project, hit the mark on all ends for Thurman. She shared that since it was a combination of a lot of genres, such as action, comedy, emotions, as well as a lot of violence, she was intrigued by the script from the get-go.
