Sikhs go to gurdwaras to pray, take part in nagar kirtan (devotional singing), and eat langar, a special meal. Farmers participate in fairs and other cultural events on this auspicious day to show their appreciation for the abundant harvest through the vibrant and energetic dance known as bhangra.
