Zarine Khan was the wife of veteran actor and filmmaker Sanjay Khan and mother to four children: actor Zayed Khan, interior designer Sussanne Khan, Simone Arora, and jewelry designer Farah Khan Ali. She passed away on November 7 at the age of 81 due to age-related health issues.

Following her passing, the Khan family came together for Zarine’s asthi visarjan, the immersion of her ashes, in an emotional ceremony. Sanjay Khan shared a video of the solemn occasion on social media, captioning it, “In fond memory of my beloved wife, Zarine Sanjay Khan.”He chose the timeless Bollywood song ‘Ek Pyaar Ka Nagma Hai’ as the background score, a fitting musical farewell. The video also featured unseen images tracing Sanjay and Zarine’s love story and their family life with their children.The asthi visarjan video showed actor Zayed Khan breaking down inconsolably, unable to hold back his tears as he bid his mother a final goodbye. Sanjay Khan, too, appeared visibly shaken and emotional throughout the ceremony. Zarine Khan was cremated according to Hindu rituals.
