Shani Amavasya is going to be observed on Jyeshtha Amavasya, May 16, 2026. One of the most important days in Hinduism is Shani Jayanti, which is observed to honor Lord Shani Dev’s birth anniversary. On this particular day, he is revered as the lord of justice and karma. Shani dev, the lord of justice and karma, was born on this particular day. One of the strongest planets is Lord Shani, the son of Lord Surya. On this day, one must light a diya under a peepal tree with mustard oil and recite the mantra “Om Sham Shanaishcharaye Namah” in order to appease Lord Shani.

Vat Savitri Vrat on Jyeshtha Amavasya 2026:

Vat Savirti is going to be celebrated on May 16, 2026. The fast is observed by married Hindu women for the longevity of their husbands. They pray to the banyan tree, Vat Vriksha, and seek blessings. According to Hindu texts, Vat Vriksha is one of the most sacred trees. This festival is mainly celebrated in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Haryana, and Punjab.

Jyeshtha Amavasya is extremely significant day in Hinduism. This day is devoted to ancestors or forefathers. Depending on their customs, people carry out various rituals. They engage in various religious and spiritual pursuits. In order to seek blessings of Goddess Ganga, people travels to different sacred locations where they can take a holy dip in ganga river. Pitra tarpan, Pind daan, charity, and donations are all believed to be auspicious on this day.
