Bollywood star Alia Bhatt was spotted at the Mumbai airport on Friday morning, as she caught her flight out of the city to head to the BAFTAs 2026. Dressed in blue jeans, a matching top and a brown trench coat, Alia was all smiles as she paused to pose for photographs and wave to paparazzi before making her way inside the terminal. This year’s ceremony will see Alia stepping up on the big stage to present an award.

Celebrity presenters at the BAFTAs

News of the Bollywood star joining the lineup of presenters was made public early this week. It was also announced that she will join an impressive line-up of global talents like ‘Peaky Blinders’ star Cillian Murphy, ‘House of the Dragon’ actress Olivia Cooke, Bryan Cranston, Ethan Hawke, Kate Hudson and Michael B. Jordan, among many others.While this is her first appearance at the BAFTA, is not her first turn representing India on an international platform. She previously made appearances at the Met Gala and the Cannes Film Festival.Most nominated films at the BAFTAsThe 2026 BAFTAs, set to be held on Sunday, has Leonardo DiCaprio’s ‘One Battle After Another’ leading the way with 14 nominations, followed closely ‘Sinners’ which earned 13 noms.‘One Battle After Another’ was just two nominations shy of the BAFTA record set by ‘Gandhi’ and tying with previous heavyweights including ‘All Quiet on the Western Front’, ‘Atonement’, ‘The King’s Speech’ and ‘Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon’.Meanwhile, ‘Sinners’, directed by Ryan Coogler, has secured 13 nominations, marking the first BAFTA nominations for both Coogler and Michael B Jordan. Just behind are ‘Hamnet’ and ‘Marty Supreme’, which have each garnered 11 nominations, with Timothee Chalamet returning to the Leading Actor race for the second consecutive year.The BAFTA Film Awards 2026 will take place on February 22 at London’s Royal Festival Hall, with Alan Cumming serving as host.
