The update has made hikers, nature lovers, and travellers happy alike. Nearly 213 acres around Lake Superior Falls on the Wisconsin-Michigan border have been added to the U.S. national park system. This means long-term protection of the region’s waterfalls, wildlife, and forests, among others.Let’s find out more:LocationThe newly protected national land now is situated along the Montreal River near Lake Superior. Not many must be aware of the fact that it is the largest freshwater lake by surface area in the world. As per many conservation groups, the new acquisition will protect the land from future private development. The spot where the Montreal River drops (90 feet through a rocky canyon) before meeting Lake Superior. It’s a spectacular site noted for its dramatic scenery.
