On June 5, his management agency issued an official statement on their website, announcing that the actor had passed away and left for his heavenly abode. In their official statement, they wrote, “It is with great sadness that we can confirm Patrick Godfrey passed away last night. He died peacefully at home surrounded by his family.”They further added, “Paddy was an exceptionally talented actor and a remarkable individual, and we will miss him greatly.”No other information regarding his passing was shared with the public.

Patrick Lindesay Archibald Godfrey was born on February 13, 1933, in Finsbury, London, England, to Rev. Frederick Godfrey and Lois Mary Gladys. He started his career in the entertainment industry in 1956 when he joined the Radio Drama Company. Years later, he made his debut in the TV show ‘Mary Barton’ in a minor role. This was followed by a short stint on ‘Doctor Who’; he appeared in 4 episodes of the hit show.His debut in the film industry came around the 1980s when he starred in ‘The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby.’ Over the course of his career in the industry, Godfrey worked on some massive hits. He was famously known for his roles in films such as ‘Ever After’, ‘Ever After: A Cinderella Story’, ‘Les Misérables’, ‘Mr Turner’, ‘The Count of Monte Cristo’, ‘The Gambler’, ‘The Remains of the Day’, and many other titles.His last work as an actor was in the show ‘His Dark Materials’, where he played one of the butlers. In films, he was last seen in 2018 in ‘Mowgli: Legend of the Jungle’, voicing the Elder Wolf.The actor is survived by his partner, fellow actress Amanda Walker, and their two children, Kate Godfrey and Richard Godfrey.
