Finally, the wait is over for lakhs of students nationwide as the National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the results of the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG 2025. The candidates who sat for the test can now download their scorecards online from the official CUET website.
This year’s CUET UG had more than 13 lakh students participating in it, which is one of the largest undergraduate entrance exams in India. Spanning across various phases in June, the examination took place at multiple centres across the country, for admissions to central, state, and other participating universities covering a vast array of subjects.
The students can use their application number and date of birth to log in and see and download their respective scorecards. Along with the result, the NTA has also published the details of subject-wise toppers and percentiles.
As anticipated, competition was fierce this year, with many candidates scoring over the 95th percentile in areas such as English, Political Science, Business Studies, and Economics. Most scores at the 100 percentile level were attained in areas such as Accountancy, Psychology, and History. Students from Delhi, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra dominated the list of top scorers.
The NTA made it clear that CUET UG 2025 scores will be strictly used as eligibility criteria by the participating universities, and colleges will finalize admissions based on the respective institutions’ cut-off marks and merit lists. Now that results are announced, individual colleges and universities will start releasing their counselling schedules, registration portals, and cut-off criteria in the coming days.
Most of the central universities like Delhi University, Banaras Hindu University, Jawaharlal Nehru University, and some others are likely to initiate their admission procedure shortly. Students can keep a regular check on the websites of the universities they have sought admission for latest counselling schedules and deadlines.
This year, the examination process saw various technological enhancements, such as sophisticated AI-based proctoring, enhanced security measures, and extra centres of support for candidates from remote locations. Even with some reported technical issues during previous phases, the NTA was able to carry out the examination successfully overall.
Experts have pointed out that CUET UG continues to modernize the undergraduate admission process throughout India by introducing uniformity among entry standards. With more than one university accepting a single entrance test, the load on students has immensely declined, enabling them to concentrate on a single common exam instead of various institution-specific tests.
Students and parents are now turning their attention to the next important phase—counselling and admission. Career counsellors advise students to consider their course and college choice very carefully, bear in mind location and academic aspirations, and stay abreast of deadlines so as not to miss out on any opportunities.
With the announcement of CUET UG 2025 results, a big milestone in the educational journey of lakhs of students has been reached. As they proceed to get admission in their preferred institutes, the coming weeks will be instrumental in determining their path of higher studies.
