India captain Shubman Gill produced a moment of brilliance in the field, pulling off a sensational one-handed catch to dismiss Sri Lanka batter Kamindu Mendis during the first session of Day 3 of the Galle Test. The catch came off the bowling of Kuldeep Yadav and left the Galle crowd stunned as Gill threw himself full length to his left at short extra cover to complete an extraordinary grab just inches above the ground.Mendis had stepped down the pitch looking to push Kuldeep through the off side but failed to control the shot. The ball travelled quickly towards Gill, who initially appeared to move for a two-handed catch before realising he needed greater reach. The India captain stretched out horizontally, stuck out his left hand and held on, ensuring the ball did not pop out as he hit the ground.Gill immediately jumped up in celebration, throwing the ball into the air before punching it in delight. His teammates quickly surrounded him to celebrate one of the standout catches of the match. Mendis departed for 14 off 25 balls, with Sri Lanka slipping to 59/4.Even West Indies cricket Legend Ian Bishop didn’t hold back to shower his praise on Shubman Gill’s catch,
