Reports about the shoot have claimed that the sequence became particularly uncomfortable for Madhuri, with Khanna allegedly continuing the kiss even after the director called for the shot to be stopped. Some reports have gone on to claim that the actor continued kissing her for several minutes and bit her lip, leaving the actress bleeding.Khanna reportedly apologised to Madhuri afterwards.Following the release of Dayavan, the scene became one of the most discussed and controversial intimate sequences in Hindi cinema. Reports claimed that legal notices were issued demanding that the sequence be removed.
