Anubhav Dubey’s entrepreneurial journey is an epitome of resilience and innovation. He was born in 1996 in Rewa, Madhya Pradesh. Anubhav had started on the path of becoming an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer as that was his father’s dream too. He shifted to Delhi for preparing for the UPSC exams but soon understood that his heart was elsewhere.
In 2016, when he was 22 years old, Anubhav co-founded Chai Sutta Bar (CSB) with his childhood friend Anand Nayak. With a start-up investment of ₹3 lakh, they opened their first store in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. The idea was to offer traditional Indian tea in earth-friendly clay cups, or kulhads, in a modern, bar-like setting. This interesting combination of traditional and contemporary soon struck a chord with people, and the business grew very fast.
Now, Chai Sutta Bar has grown to more than 165 stores in India and abroad, selling over 4.5 lakh kulhads of tea and coffee every day. The brand’s focus on sustainability helps local potters and encourages eco-friendliness. Anubhav’s vision goes beyond business expansion; he wants to create spaces that encourage community bonding and celebrate India’s rich tea culture.
Anubhav’s turnaround from a UPSC candidate to an accomplished businessman indicates how imperative it is to stick with one’s passion and explore off-beat tracks. Anubhav’s saga of determination is inspirational to potential businessmen and teaches the message that even the simplest thought can become a full-grown venture if given courage, brains, and patience.
