The recalled item is the “Traditional Madeleines” bakery pack. These are soft sponge-like cakes usually sold in clear plastic trays.The problem started when some packs were mistakenly filled with a different version of the product. Instead of the standard madeleines, certain containers included madeleines containing chocolate hazelnut spread. Hazelnuts were not declared on the label. Soy was also present in the product without proper mention. Both ingredients can trigger allergic reactions in sensitive individuals.The recall covers items sold between March 30 and April 6, 2026.

The products were distributed to a limited number of Costco warehouse locations. The list includes stores across multiple regions:

- Pembroke Pines, Florida
- East Peoria, Illinois
- Missoula, Montana
- Bayamón, Puerto Rico
- Fairfax, Virginia
- Burlington, Washington
- Bellevue, Wisconsin
- Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin
