Taran Adarsh opens up about his views on ‘Dhurandhar 2’
While talking to Bollywood Hungama on Dhar’s latest directorial work, Adarsh had nothing but praise. He cited that “A film like Dhurandhar should be celebrated,” further comparing the film’s release and reception to films like ‘Sholay’ (1975) and ‘Mughal-e-Azam’ (1960).
He added in the interview, “I am very thankful to the Almighty that I have seen this phase once again with another film. I am talking about 1975 when Sholay was released. I was 10 years old then. My father’s office was at Grant Road, and Minerva Theatre was right where the film was released and ran continuously for five years on a 70 mm screen. I watched the film countless times. The craze that I saw then, I am seeing again in 2026.”He quipped that while he had not seen ‘Mughal-e-Azam’ since it was released before he was even born, he still compared its hype to ‘Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge.’ “I think Dhurandhar is one of the best films to come out of the Indian film industry,” he added, further sharing that Dhar’s film is setting the stage for future films in the Indian industry altogether, not just Bollywood. Furthermore, he concluded by saying that, “When you see the collections in international markets also, you will see that this film is truly planting its flag there.”
