Saudi Arabia opens Hajj packages booking for domestic pilgrims with strict payment timeline

Saudi Arabia has formally moved into the booking phase for domestic Hajj pilgrims, with authorities outlining strict payment timelines and updated cancellation rules as preparations intensify. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah announced on Wednesday the start of the Hajj package booking phase for domestic pilgrims, including Saudi citizens and expatriates holding valid residency permits. Those who registered their data during the first phase can now select and book packages through the Nusuk application or website. Payments are processed via the SADAD system. Earlier, on February 23 (Ramadan 6), the ministry began the data registration phase for domestic pilgrims. The ministry explained that applicants can review available packages, select the most suitable option, issue a booking invoice and then complete payment through the “SADAD” system. The move is part of what officials described as a comprehensive digital process aimed at organizing seating and ensuring equitable access to opportunities. The ministry confirmed that all procedures are conducted electronically through the Nusuk app or the official website: https://www.nusuk.sa/.

Payment deadlines tightened

According to the ministry, pilgrims must complete payment within 72 hours of booking. This deadline will remain in effect until Dhul Qada 27, corresponding to May 14.Starting May 15, the payment window will be reduced to six hours to ensure booking opportunities for the largest possible number of beneficiaries. Bookings will be automatically cancelled if payment is not received within the specified timeframe. The ministry urged those wishing to perform Hajj within Saudi Arabia to promptly book their packages and complete payment within the specified deadlines. It also stressed the importance of carefully reviewing package details and terms before confirming contracts.

Cancellation and refund rules

Requests for the cancellation of bookings will be processed according to the approved cancellation policy, the ministry said.Cancellations are permitted without any deductions before the Hajj permit is issued and up to Shawwal 30 (April 18). After the permit is issued, deductions will apply depending on the date the cancellation request is submitted. No refunds will be granted for cancellations made from Dhul Hijjah 1 (May 18) until the platform closes.
