Kamada Ekadashi 2026: Date, parana time, puja rituals, mantra and significance

Ekadashi is the most sacred day in Hindu religion, which is devoted to Lord Vishnu. Ekadashi falls twice a month during Shukla paksha (waxing phase of the moon) and Krishna paksha (waning phase of the moon). This month, Kamada Ekadashi will fall on 11th day of Shukla Paksha in the month of Chaitra. Kamada Ekadashi fast will be observed on March 29, 2026.

Kamada Ekadashi 2026: Significance

Ekadashi day is dedicated to worship Lord Vishnu that falls every month on 11th day of Shukla Paksha and Krishna Paksha. This time, Kamada Ekadashi is going to take place on Sunday, March 29, 2026. Kamada Ekadashi holds a great religious and spiritual significance among Hindus. Kamada means the one who fulfills the desires. According to the scriptures, Ekadashi is believed to remove all the sins committed by the devotees in their past and current birth, and attracts happiness, prosperity, peace and spiritual growth. The importance of Ekadashi is explained in Varaha Puran, where your serious sins are also believed to be forgiven by the Lord if you sincerely observe fast and offer prayers. This fast is believed to purify your mind, body and soul and strengthens your connection with the Lord.

On Dwadashi tithi, devotees break their Ekadashi Vrat during the Parana time. The scriptures state that the Ekadashi fast must be broken during this specific auspicious period, which typically occurs in the early morning. In order to receive spiritual enlightenment and reap the benefits of Ekadashi, it is crucial for devotees to break their fast within this designated time.1. 1. One must break their fast on Dwadashi tithi after sunrise. 2. They should break the fast during the mentioned auspicious time. 3. You can start with the sattvik food such as fruits and rice daal. 4. It is prohibited to use baath soap on Ekadashi tithi. 5. One should not break tulsi leaves on the day of Ekadashi.

1. Take a holy bath after waking up early in the morning. 2. Clean a home and specially puja room and take a sankalp of observing fast. 3. Take a woodem plank and place an idol of Lord Vishnu along with shree yantra. 4. Light a diya in front of the idol, adorn the idol with garland and give other offerings. 5. Offer panchamrit and tulsi patra (puja is considered incomplete without offering tulsi patra to Lord Vishnu)6. Chant various mantras to invoke the idol of Lord Vishnu.7.
