Injury blow before season start

Ellis, who had been picked up for Rs 2 crore and retained ahead of the season, brought valuable experience with 19 wickets from 17 IPL matches. His absence now leaves a gap in the bowling lineup that the team will need to address quickly. A franchise official confirmed the news. “Yes, he is out. We have not yet decided on the replacement,” the offical told PTI.So far, the team management has not named a replacement, adding some uncertainty just days before the tournament begins.

What this means for CSK

Led by Ruturaj Gaikwad, Chennai will now have to rethink their bowling plans and possibly rely on other players to step up. The team is set to kick off their campaign against Rajasthan Royals on March 30 in Guwahati.Despite the setback, CSK will hope to quickly adjust and stay competitive as they aim for another strong IPL season.
