'On pure vegetarian diet': Ram Charan maintained 'Peddi' physique even during Ayyappa Deeksha, Buchi Babu Sana reveals
Ram Charan dedicated eight months to an intense physical and spiritual transformation for his upcoming film ‘Peddi’. Director Buchi Babu Sana revealed the actor trained daily, focusing on body language and attitude alongside building muscle. Charan maintained his peak fitness on a pure vegetarian diet during his Ayyappa Deeksha, showing remarkable discipline. This commitment has impressed the industry.

Ram Charan is no stranger to reinvention, but what he has done for his upcoming film ‘Peddi’ may be the most physically and spiritually demanding transformation of his career. Director Buchi Babu Sana, who previously helmed the acclaimed ‘Uppena,’ has revealed that the global star trained almost every single day for eight months to build the authentic Pehelwan physique required for the role and the preparation went far beyond the gym. Speaking about the process, Sana emphasised that building muscle was only one part of the equation, explaining that Ram Charan also had to completely internalise the character’s body language, walk, and rugged attitude to make the transformation feel organic on screen. What has truly stunned the industry, however, is the actor’s refusal to compromise even during his Ayyappa Deeksha which is a period of strict spiritual observance during which he maintained his peak physical conditioning entirely on a pure vegetarian diet, without a single break in his training routine.

Speaking about the preparation, Buchi Babu Sana said, “For the Pehelwan physique in ‘Peddi,’ Ram Charan trained almost every day for eight months.” As per 123Telugu, he added that it was not just about muscles, but also about matching the character’s nature. “It is not enough to build a body; the body language, walk, and attitude should suit the role,” he explained. The director said Ram Charan worked hard to bring a natural and rugged flair to the character.
