As we all know that Ram Janmotsav is going to be celebrated in Ayodhya with immense happiness and fervor as this was the place where Lord Shri Ram was born. On this auspicious occasion, the city will be decorated beautifully with lights, flowers, saffron flags, rangoli and earthen diyas. The temple will be beautifully decorated with lights and flowers. This year, Ram Navami will be celebrated on March 27 in Ayodhya city.

What is Surya Tilak?

Surya Tilak is the ritual, when sun rays are diverted to touch the forehead of the Ram Lalla idol at exactly 12 PM on the auspicious day of Ram Navami. On Ram Navami, a complex system of mirrors and lenses created by leading Indian scientists captures the sunlight directly into the sanctum sanctorum at precisely 12:00 PM, creating a dazzling, blazing Tilak on the forehead of the Ram Lalla deity. This magical moments lasts for few minutes. The people who are unable to capture this amazing moment, the temple trust broadcasts the Surya Tilak live on the screens across the Ayodhya and people in other cities can witness the beautiful moment through the news channels. The trust ensures that no one misses the breathtaking moment of Surya Tilak on the sacred day of Ram Janmotsav.

According to the reports; Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teertha Kshetra Trust, Gopal Rao said that Ram Navami festivities has already commenced in Ayodhya city. More than one lakh devotees are visiting in the temple to have a glimpse of Ram Lalla. According to him, Surya tilak will coincide with the noon aarti, which will take place at 12 PM. The sun rays will remain on the forehead for about four minutes so people will be able to have a glimpse of Surya Tilak. The temple management have made proper arrangements for the devotees keeping in the view that there will be rush around the temple and all the devotees would not be able to witness this inside the temple so they installed television screens around the city, where they would be able to see all the ceremonies and Surya Tilak. To ensure equality and smooth crowd flow, the temple trust suspended the VIP darshan. The temple will remain open from early morning till late night. Devotees are eagerly for this mesmerizing moment, when they would be able to witness this with their eyes offer their prayers to Lord Shri Ram.

Ram Navami 2026: Free Darshan Timings

These are the below mentioned time slots when devotees can attend the free darshan on the day of Ram Navami:

  • 07:00 AM to 09:00 AM
  • 09:00 AM to 11:00 AM
  • 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM
  • 01:00 PM to 03:00 PM
  • 03:00 PM to 05:00 PM
  • 05:00 PM to 07:00 PM
  • 07:00 PM to 09:00 PM

  • Mangal Aarti: 04:30 AM
  • Shringar Aarti: 06:30 AM
  • Shayan Aarti: 09:30 PM
