Salman Khan to play a reluctant, retiring superhero in Raj & DK’s film inspired by 'Hancock’ - Reports
Sources suggest that Salman Khan is in discussions with Raj and DK for a playful twist on the superhero genre, where he takes on the role of a hero transitioning into retirement. This comedic spectacle promises to intertwine humor with adrenaline-pumping action, contingent on securing the final script and a practical budget plan.

Salman Khan is reportedly in discussions with filmmaker duo Raj and DK for a new film that could take an unusual turn for the superstar. The project is described as a quirky superhero comedy in which Khan would play a hero ready to retire from saving the world. The idea has caught the actor’s attention, though the final decision will depend on the completed script and the film’s budget.

Salman Khan in talks for quirky superhero comedy

According to Bollywood Hungama, Raj and DK have been in talks with Salman Khan for the past three months and are now developing a story built around an unconventional superhero concept. The proposed film reportedly blends humor with action and follows a hero who wants to step away from the role he has played for years. As per the report, “Salman Khan will be seen as a superhero who wants to hang up his cape and retire from saving the world, having grown weary of doing the same thing on repeat. But circumstances refuse to let him live in peace and keep pulling him back into action time and again, eventually pushing him into a larger conflict. The narrative blends broad comedy with superhero beats-essentially, a high-concept superhero comedy.”Reports indicate that Salman Khan likes the core idea but wants to see the full script before committing to the project. Budget is another key factor in the discussion. The source further added, “Salman’s concern is the budget. He has asked Raj & DK to develop it with the right budget in mind, as Salman is in no mood to do an expensive superhero film. The director duo is working on the script, keeping Salman Khan’s character traits in mind.”

Production plans and ‘Battle of Galwan’ update

If the script comes together as planned, the next step will be a formal narration for the actor. The report suggests that the narration could take place in April 2026. The source said, “If all goes well, it will go on floors in November 2026. It’s produced by Mythri Productions with Reel Life Entertainment.”Meanwhile, Salman Khan is preparing for the release of his upcoming war drama ‘Battle of Galwan’. The actor was recently spotted on the film’s set. The sighting came shortly after his father, veteran screenwriter Salim Khan, was hospitalized following a health scare. During that period, Salman was seen traveling between the hospital and the film’s shooting location.Reports say the production team adjusted the schedule to support the actor’s commitments. Parts of the shoot shifted to Mehboob Studio so Salman could remain close to the hospital while continuing to work. The move reportedly helped the film proceed without disrupting important sequences, including a large-scale song shoot.Raj & DK are an Indian filmmaking duo comprising Raj Nidimoru and Krishna Dasarakothapalli. They work as writers, directors, and producers in Hindi cinema and streaming shows. The pair created series such as ‘The Family Man’, ‘Farzi’, ‘Citadel: Honey Bunny’, and ‘Guns & Gulaabs’, and directed films including ‘Shor in the City’, ‘Go Goa Gone’, ‘Happy Ending’, and ‘A Gentleman’.
