T. Rajendar questions the halt of the 'Arasan' shoot; veteran filmmaker seeks fair resolution for Silambarasan
Veteran filmmaker T. Rajendar has questioned the halt of Silambarasan TR’s film ‘Arasan,’ directed by Vetrimaaran. He seeks a fair resolution, citing a previous legal judgment in favor of his son regarding financial matters with producer Ishari K. Ganesh. Rajendar emphasizes the need for dialogue and a peaceful solution that respects the court’s decision and supports all stakeholders.

Veteran actor and filmmaker T. Rajendar issued a strong statement after reports emerged that the shooting of ‘Arasan’ had been halted. The film, which stars Silambarasan TR and is directed by Vetrimaaran, recently completed its first schedule in Madurai and moved to Chennai for the second schedule. However, reports claiming the filming stopped created a wave of discussion in the industry. In light of the situation, Rajendar made a declaration. He presented his point of view and asked why they reached such a decision.

Rajendar says he is not defending his son but seeking fairness

In his statement, T. Rajendar clarified that he is not speaking just to defend his son Silambarasan TR or the film Arasan. Instead, he said he wants to highlight what he believes is an unfair situation. As per News 18, T Rajendar pointed out that producer Ishari K. Ganesh, who backed the film ‘Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu,’ had earlier taken legal action against Silambarasan. According to Rajendar, the case was fought legally in court and eventually resolved in their favor. He explained that the court had ruled that the advance amount related to the next project after ‘Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu’ should go to Silambarasan, and he said they possess the official judgment copy.

Filmmaker questions producers’ and workers’ associations

T Rajendar further expressed concern about reports that the Tamil Film Producers Council and the Federation of South Indian Cine Employees were involved in halting the film’s shoot. He questioned whether it was fair to take such action when the matter had already been addressed legally.According to him, if producer associations can stand up for a producer’s rights, then organizations representing actors should also come forward when an actor faces difficulties. Rajendar suggested that the Nadigar Sangam should also step in to support artists and ensure justice in such situations.

T. Rajendar calls for dialogue and a peaceful solution

In the final part of his statement, T. Rajendar questioned whether stopping an ongoing film project after a court had already issued its judgment was appropriate. He said that taking such steps could affect many people working in the film industry. T. Rajendar stressed the importance of a peaceful solution, which would be in line with the law and satisfactory to all the stakeholders in the movie production. He also hinted at convening a press conference during which he would elaborate further on the matter.‘Arasan,’ one of Silambarasan’s and Vetrimaaran’s most awaited films, is trending among fans and the public.
