Taapsee Pannu has been praised for her strong acting in the new film Assi. The movie, directed by Anubhav Sinha, also stars Kani Kusruti, Manoj Pahwa, Kumud Mishra, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Seema Pahwa, Supriya Pathak, and Naseeruddin Shah. It was released in theaters on February 20, along with Do Deewane Seher Mein, featuring Siddhant Chaturvedi and Mrunal Thakur. In a recent video, Taapsee asked people to watch her film in theatres.
Taapsee Pannu shares heartfelt message
On February 27, actress Taapsee took to Instagram to share a heartfelt video. In the clip, she spoke about her experience reading the audience and critic reviews for her latest film, ‘Assi’. Talking about how different films evoke different kinds of reactions, she said in Hindi, “Some films get messages saying – What a story! Some films get messages saying – What an amazing character to play! And some films get messages saying – Thank you for doing this film! Some films get reviews saying – What an entertaining watch. Must see! And some films get reviews saying – Very uncomfortable. Disgusted, but a must see! – Such a film came 6 years ago – Thappad – and fortunately, another film starring the same director came a week ago – Assi. So many lovely messages, so many validating reviews, but most importantly So many people have taken this issue personally and what beautiful articles, videos, I have seen them all, read them all, maybe you too must have read and seen them.”

She further continued, “If you have seen and read so many of them, then there must be something special. So if you feel that you should see it, what kind of picture is this for which so many people are writing with so much intensity, so much love, so much passion, then watch it once. Maybe I should also talk to you about this picture and if you like it, whatever you want, do write. I would definitely like to see it. Coming weekend, let’s hope you have some time to watch this film. It may make you a little uncomfortable, but you will remember it. Perhaps I have gained enough confidence to say this.
