At the 79th edition of the BAFTA awards, the animated feature film, ‘Zootopia 2’ scored the official title for the Best Animated Film award. It beat out other animated films, including ‘Elio’ and ‘Little Amélie.’The award was accepted by Jared Bush, who co-created the film, along with producer Yvett Merino. During their speech, the two expressed their gratitude for all that has happened so far and how much of a success ‘Zootopia 2’ became.In his speech, Bush shared that “We wanted to tell the story about differences and the fact that sometimes in this world right now, we are told that differences are bad or a problem. Our differences make us all fantastic. Our differences can make something really wonderful, and the world needs it right now.”

Other nominations for ‘Zootopia 2’

The animated film was nominated for a total of two awards at the BAFTAs tonight, while it took home the title for Best Animated Film, the film lost out on the Best Children’s & Family Film category against India’s entry, ‘Boong.’ ‘Zootopia 2’ is now heading for the Oscars, which will air on March 15 next month. There, the film has also been nominated for the Best Animated Feature title.

Premise of ‘Zootopia 2’

The film has been released almost 10 years after the first installment. It follows the life of a bunny cop named Judy Hopps as she navigates her life living in the main city of Zootropolis. She is accompanied by Nick Wilde on a brand new mission as they chase after the mysterious pit viper named Gary De’Snake after being framed for something that they did not do.
