The tragedy took place at their residence in Nanganallur.The victim was an Instagram influencer with more than 3 lakh followers. Police confirmed that both were found dead inside their home as reported by TOI City.
Family background
Nagalakshmi prioritised her children’s education. Her elder son, Harish Bharadwaj (21), is studying medicine in Russia. Her younger son, Sailash (18), is pursuing dentistry in Chennai as per the reports.Police said Subramanian had recently returned to Chennai. He reportedly reconciled with Nagalakshmi after apologising for his past behaviour. The couple had resumed living together shortly before the incident.
Case came to light on April 27
Reportedly, the incident surfaced on April 27. The couple’s younger son returned home and made the shocking discovery, finding both his parents dead inside the house. The deceased were identified as Subramanian (52) and his wife Nagalakshmi (42) who was also known as a business owner.Authorities were alerted soon after the discovery. Police reached the spot and began initial procedures.
Couple had been living separately
Reportedly, according to police, the couple had been living apart for some time. Personal differences were cited as the reason.During this period, Subramanian had moved to Madurai where he was staying with a relative. Meanwhile, Nagalakshmi focused on rebuilding her life and she became financially independent and expanded her work.She launched a saree business in Nanganallur and the business grew steadily with the help of Instagram promotions. She later opened a larger store in Chennai.On April 27, Subramanian allegedly sent a disturbing message to Sailash. Concerned by the message, the young man rushed home.He found his mother hacked to death and his father was discovered hanging in another room. Police officials reached the house soon after being informed. The bodies were recovered and sent to Chengalpattu Government Hospital for post-mortem.Initial investigation reports that a heated argument may have taken place and led to murder.
