Erik Fleming, a licensed addiction counsellor, has been reportedly sentenced to two years in federal prison for his role in supplying the ketamine that caused the actor’s death.
Erik Fleming pleaded guilty to serious charges
According to Wio News, Erik Fleming acted as an intermediary who delivered ketamine to Perry during the final days of the actor’s life. In 2024, he pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute ketamine and distribution resulting in death.During his sentencing hearing in Los Angeles, Erik Fleming expressed remorse before Judge Sherilyn Peace Garnett. “It’s truly a nightmare I can’t wake up from.”He also said that his great remorse can’t compare to the agony I’ve caused to Perry’s family and friends.Court filings stated that Fleming helped distribute 52 vials of ketamine to Perry in October 2023, including the dose that proved fatal.
Federal Investigation uncovered wider network
Authorities determined that Mathew Perry died from the acute effects of ketamine, followed by drowning. Investigators later uncovered a network of doctors, dealers, and associates who allegedly exploited his addiction for financial gain.All five people charged in connection with the case have entered guilty pleas. Jasveen Sangha, described as the principal supplier, was sentenced to 15 years in prison in April 2026. Kenneth Iwamasa admitted to administering more than 20 ketamine injections in the final four days of Perry’s life. Dr. Mark Chavez was sentenced to eight months of home detention and three years of probation.Dr. Salvador Plasencia received a 30-month prison sentence in December 2025.
