Suriya’s fantasy action entertainer ‘Karuppu’ continues its successful theatrical run across India and overseas markets. The film has maintained a solid hold even in its second week and witnessed a healthy jump in collections on Day 14.According to Sacnilk, the film collected Rs 4.95 crore net on Day 14. The latest figures mark a 23.8 percent growth from the previous day’s collection of Rs 4.00 crore net.‘Karuppu’ recorded the Day 14 collections across 3,881 shows nationwide. With this, the film’s total India net collection has reached Rs 168.15 crore. The India gross collection currently stands at Rs 194.55 crore.The fantasy drama is now steadily moving closer to the Rs 300 crore worldwide milestone with consistent collections from Tamil Nadu and overseas centres.
‘Karuppu’s overseas market pushes worldwide total higher
‘Karuppu’ has also continued to perform strongly in international markets. On Day 14, the film collected Rs 1.25 crore gross overseas. The total overseas gross collection has now reached Rs 72.50 crore. The worldwide gross collection of Karuppu currently stands at Rs 267.05 crore.The movie had already collected Rs 113.85 crore during its first week. In the second week, the film added another Rs 54.30 crore net to its overall tally.The Tamil version once again remained the film’s strongest contributor on Day 14. It earned Rs 4.15 crore net with 28 percent occupancy across 2,620 shows. The Telugu version collected Rs 80 lakhs net with 20 percent occupancy from 1,261 shows.Tamil occupancy improved as the day progressed. Morning occupancy started at 19.54 percent. Afternoon occupancy increased to 38.23 percent, while evening shows registered 38.38 percent occupancy. Night shows maintained a strong 35.15 percent turnout.The Telugu version recorded 16 percent overall occupancy. The highest response came during evening shows with 17.60 percent occupancy.Tamil Nadu continued to dominate the state-wise gross collection chart. The state contributed Rs 4.10 crore gross on Day 14 alone.
‘Karuppu’s state-wise collections remain steady
Apart from Tamil Nadu, the film also maintained decent collections in other southern states. Karnataka contributed Rs 50 lakhs while Andhra Pradesh and Telangana together added Rs 88 lakhs gross.Kerala contributed Rs 18 lakhs while the rest of India added Rs 4 lakhs to the total.
