The makers of the much-anticipated romantic-thriller ‘Awarapan 2’ announced on Thursday, June 5, 2026, that the film has officially completed its shoot. Emraan Hashmi, who leads the film, has wrapped up filming alongside co-star Disha Patani. The film has been written by Bilal Siddiqui and is helmed by director Nitin Kakkar.

Production banner Vishesh Films marked the occasion by sharing a photo of Emraan alongside the film’s slate on their official handle. “OGs know this isn’t just a wrap. He came back for you. In cinemas August 14,” they wrote in the caption.

According to a press release, the film’s shooting took place across diverse and visually stunning locations, spanning Rajasthan and South East Asia. In the sequel, Emraan steps back into the shoes of his iconic character Shivam, a role he had originally brought to life in the 2007 film directed by Mohit Suri.

‘Awarapan 2’, produced by Vishesh Bhatt, is set to hit theatres on August 14, with the project having first been announced as a birthday surprise for Emraan on his 46th last year. For those unfamiliar with the original, the 2007 film revolved around Emraan’s character, a hitman tasked by his boss to keep tabs on his mistress. The story takes a dramatic turn when he uncovers the dark truth that she has been a victim of s*x trafficking, prompting him to risk everything to help reunite her with the man she loves.
