Prabhas to Ramya Krishnan: Here's how much SS Rajamouli’s 'Baahubali: The Beginning' star cast was paid
SS Rajamouli’s ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’ achieved massive success, with its star cast earning substantial remuneration reflecting the film’s grandeur. Prabhas reportedly received Rs 25 crore for both parts, while Rana Daggubati earned Rs 15 crore. Anushka Shetty and Tamannaah Bhatia each took home Rs 5 crore, with Ramya Krishnan and Nassar also securing significant paychecks for their impactful performances.

Upon its release, ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’ broke all prior records with a worldwide collection of over Rs 650 crores and changed the face of Indian cinema. ‘Baahubali’ was a masterpiece by Rajamouli that transported you to the magnificent land of Mahishmati, a land of paradise and grandeur, a beautifully narrated story of drama and celluloid, and a film that will surely be remembered. The movie had a star-studded, powerful cast of Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka Shetty, Tamannah Bhatia, Ramya Krishnan, and Nassar, which delivered the best performance ever seen in all languages. The scale of its success matched the scale of the actors’ remuneration. Did you know their paychecks reflected the film’s larger-than-life ambition? Let’s read:

Remuneration that matched the film’s scale

The cast’s paychecks were as grand as the project itself. As reported by India Today, Prabhas was paid around Rs 25 crore for both parts, along with a share in the profits after dedicating nearly five years to the franchise. Rana Daggubati reportedly received about Rs 15 crore for playing the fierce Bhallaladeva. Anushka Shetty and Tamannaah Bhatia were each said to have earned close to Rs 5 crore for their roles. Ramya Krishnan, who brought immense authority to Sivagami, reportedly took home around Rs 2.5 crore, while Nassar earned approximately Rs 1.5–2 crore for his pivotal performance.

‘Baahubali’ stars physical dedication and career-defining transformations

The film needed more than just star power. Prabhas underwent a dramatic physical transformation and avoided signing other films during the shoot. Rana Daggubati built a warrior-like physique that became one of the highlights of the franchise. Anushka Shetty was dignified as Devasena, and Tamannaah was brilliant as Avantika. Ramya Krishnan was impressive with her presence, and Nassar delivered nuanced performances.

A franchise that became an epic legacy

The journey that began with ‘Baahubali: The Beginning’ reached an emotional peak with ‘Baahubali 2: The Conclusion,’ which shattered records and crossed Rs 1,700 crore worldwide, making it one of India’s biggest cinematic achievements. Both films, in conjunction, created ‘Baahubali: The Epic,’ expanding to cartoons, novels, and digital content, which made the lead actors pan-Indian stars. The conclusion, meanwhile, not only cleared the mystery of “Why did Kattappa kill Baahubali?” but also concluded the movie as one of the biggest and most memorable in world cinema, where all elements, from size and content to the power of the empire, became the ultimate blockbuster.
