Airspace closure continues: Qatar Airways extends flight suspension

Qatar Airways flights remain suspended due to the ongoing closure of the State of Qatar’s airspace, with passengers advised not to travel to the airport unless they receive official confirmation regarding their flight. Operations will resume immediately once authorities announce that Qatari airspace has safely reopened.The airline confirmed that the suspension will continue while the airspace closure remains in place. Operations will restart once the General Civil Aviation Authority of the State of Qatar issues an official announcement confirming that the country’s airspace has reopened and that the relevant authorities have approved the resumption of flights.

Passengers will receive another official update on March 7, 2026, at 09:00 AM Doha time (06:00 AM UTC) regarding the situation.Qatar Airways is working around the clock to organise additional relief flights once operational conditions allow services to resume. These flights will be arranged as soon as authorities confirm that it is safe to operate again.Passengers affected by the suspension will be contacted directly by Qatar Airways with updates on their flights, travel arrangements and the procedures they need to follow. Travellers have also been urged not to proceed to the airport unless they receive an official notification confirming their flight.For passengers currently in Doha, Qatar Airways representatives are present at designated hotels to assist with enquiries related to relief flights and travel arrangements.Passengers have also been asked to ensure their contact information is updated so they can receive important notifications. Details can be updated through the Qatar Airways website or the airline’s mobile app.The airline reiterated that the safety of passengers and cabin crew remains its top priority, apologising for the inconvenience caused by circumstances beyond its control and thanking passengers for their patience and understanding while the situation continues to develop.
