Mommy-to-be Deepika Padukone, is not letting her pregnancy keep her away from the film sets. The actress, who is juggling her time between the sets of ‘King’ and ‘Raaka’, is reportedly gearing up to shoot some intense action scenes.
Atlee to use body doubles for pregnant Deepika Padukone
According to reports, director Atlee is reworking portions of his upcoming film to accommodate his pregnant leading lady’s filming schedule. Padukone is said to have approximately 50 days of filming remaining for the project, which is headlined by Allu Arjun.A report on Bollywood Hungama states that Atlee, who is over the moon about Deepika’s pregnancy, has worked with his team to come up with a ‘plan B’ for the upcoming shooting schedule. As per the report, “Most of the key action sequences featuring Deepika will now be done using her body double. The actress has already given some close-up sequences and the same will be merged using VFX for the final print.”
About Deepika Padukone’s role in ‘Raaka’
Padukone, who reportedly plays a central role in the action-packed sci-fi film, will reportedly continue to shoot her close-up and other dialogue-heavy portions. She will also reportedly have a major entry sequence and other key moments alongside Allu Arjun. These scenes are now likely to be filmed with stunt doubles and post-production techniques to maintain continuity.
Deepika Padukone shoots with stunt double
This won’t be the first time that the actress has used a stunt double in her films. Photos of the actress with her stunt double on the sets of ‘Pathaan’ went viral in 2023. Katja MacRae took to her handle to share photos of herself posing with DP on the sets of the film. Both were seen rocking the same costume; however, Katja’s face featured black dots for motion capture.She had also previously stepped in to shoot action scenes for DP during her various other commercial shoots.Speaking about the film, Atlee previously revealed that with ‘Raaka’, fans will “see a very different Deepika” on the big screen.
Deepika announces second pregnancy
Deepika announced that she is expecting her second child with husband, Ranveer Singh early this month. The couple is already parents to a baby girl Dua.
