Bengaluru Man’s Accidental Bank Transfer Transforms Girl’s Life, Helps Her Score 97% in Board Exams

An ordinary banking mistake was a turning point in the life of a young girl, owing to the compassion and generosity of a Bengaluru man, Chinmay Hegde. A case of erroneous deposit turned into an saga of goodwill, hopes, and academic achievement.

Two years back, Chinmay had suddenly found ₹50,000 credited to his bank account by an international source. Instead of leaving it unclaimed, he went ahead to try and trace the source of the money. It was found that the money belonged to the family of a worker in Saudi Arabia who had inadvertently transferred the amount to an incorrect account.

Chinmay contacted the sender, who was agitated when informed that the money, which was essential for his family’s welfare, had been sent to a stranger. Instead of merely returning the money, Chinmay did more—went to the sender’s family in person to see that they got the assistance they required.

What he discovered stirred him deeply. The family was in hardship—Rizwan’s father, who had had an accident on the job and was now wheelchair-bound. The economic burden had compelled Rizwan’s younger sister to change from a private school to one run by the government, relegating her intellectual future to dark prospects.

Recognizing the family’s hardship, Chinmay’s father also stepped in. Together, they pledged to sponsor the girl’s education, covering her school expenses and ensuring she could study without worry.

Their faith was rewarded when the girl recently scored an outstanding 97% in her Class 10 board exams. In a heartfelt message, she called Chinmay before even informing her own brother, saying, “You’re like a real brother to me.”

The tale has touched hearts nationwide, reminding us that sometimes a little bit of kindness can lead to something amazing.
