Stress can be seen as one of the most important but neglected reasons behind high blood pressure in today’s times. Stress, caused by a hectic lifestyle involving working late nights, insomnia, worries, mental tiredness, and exposure to too many electronic gadgets, has become one of the primary reasons for high blood pressure, particularly among youth. Although medicines and lifestyle modifications remain important, people have increasingly resorted to certain therapeutic methods that could assist them in dealing with stress, which in turn could help them with their high blood pressure. One such therapy is Pranic Healing.The Pranic Healing technique is an energy-based healing practice that considers “prana,” or vital life force to be responsible for physical, psychological, and spiritual well-being. It is an energy healing modality that includes non-touch methods to cleanse, energize, and balance the body’s energy field, including the aura and chakras. This results better relaxation and emotional balance.In the medical world, the close correlation between chronic stress and high blood pressure has been widely discussed for decades. In a situation where a person experiences persistent psychological stress, his or her body will constantly produce certain hormones, including adrenaline and cortisol, thus resulting in elevated heart rate and blood pressure. Over time, this process could trigger other serious health issues associated with one’s heart health. In this context, alternative wellness practices aimed at managing psychological well-being have gained prominence.Stress-related hypertension has been observed to be strongly related to an unhealthy lifestyle, including irregular eating schedules, physical immobility, increased screen time, and a lack of balance between work and rest. Apart from having a negative effect on the health of an individual, these elements have a significant impact on the emotional and psychological well-being of patients. Practices focused on promoting wellness, such as Pranic Healing, are becoming very popular since they help people to relax and be more aware of their emotional needs. This leads to increased inner peace.One of the major reasons why Pranic Healing is considered for hypertension is that it deals with emotional well-being. Anger, fear, frustration, and anxiety are some of the factors that disrupt the functioning of certain energy centers related to emotions and physiological well-being. The practice of “Twin Hearts Meditation” is very helpful in helping with stress-induced hypertension. Pranic Psychotherapy helps people reduce negative emotions and stress, thereby reducing anxiety and high blood pressure. Pranic breathing, on the other hand, emphasizes regulated breathing, leading to mental peace and calming of the nervous system.Reduced stress and greater inner peace, decreased anxiety, and enhanced emotional control will eventually result in a more balanced blood pressure cycle. However, it must be stressed that Pranic Healing is considered as a complementary healing approach and not an alternative to regular drugs.
