Today, March 22, 2026, is the fourth navratri, which is connected to the Goddess Kushmanda.

Chaitra Navratri 2026: Significance

Goddess Kushmanda is worshipped on the fourth day of Navratri. The goddess of the green-hued Anahata Chakra, or heart chakra, is Maa Kushmanda, which spiritual searchers should be aware of. Those who experience dread, depression, anxiety, or uneasiness can worship Maa Kushmanda with the utmost love and devotion and recite Durga Saptashati Paath in order to please Maa Durga and receive blessings.

Chaitra Navratri 2026 Day 4 Colour: Orange

Wearing orange will make them feel energized and full of positive energy because it symbolizes courage, strength, and positive energy. Additionally, this color will bring vitality and well-being to life. This colour will bring positivity and spiritual power.

Chaitra Navratri 2026: Maa Kushmanda

The Goddess’s Sanskrit name is Kushmanda. This is a mixture of three words: Anda, which means egg, Ushma, which means energy or light, and Ku, which means small. It is believed, when Lord Vishnu first began creating the universe, everything was dark. However, when she smiled, a formless light spread everywhere, illuminating all of the universe, including galaxies and other planets. This light took the form of the Goddess, Maa Kushmanda. Since life is impossible somewhere without light, she created the world from nothing. It is also believed that Goddess Kushmanada became the source of heat, light, and energy, and that even the sun receives these elements from her. Adi Shakti, the ultimate source of all, is this swarup of Maa Durga. She has eight hands and is shown riding on a lioness. She has Kamandal, Dhanush Baan, and Kamal in her right hand and Amrit Kalash, Japa Mala, Gada, and Chakra in her left. Because she possesses eight hands, she was given the name Ashtabhuja Devi.
