‘Jurassic Park’ Star Sam Neill says he is now cancer-free; describes his chemotherapy journey as ‘pretty miserable business’

‘Jurassic Park’ star Sam Neill, who was battling stage-three blood cancer for almost five years, has shared a piece of great news with his fans. The ‘Palm Beach’ actor, Sam Neill, revealed that he is now cancer-free. In a recent interview, he shared his journey of going through the challenges of failed chemotherapy, where he almost felt slipping away. However, with advanced treatment, his latest scans show that there is ‘no cancer’ in his body.

Sam Neill says he is now cancer-free, after his chemotherapy stopped working

“I’ve been living with a particular type of lymphoma for about five years, and I was on chemotherapy and the pretty miserable business, but it was keeping me alive,” said Sam Neill to 7News.He further revealed that there came a time when his chemotherapy stopped working. “I was at a loss, and it looked like I was on the way out, which wasn’t ideal obviously,” he shared. The actor then underwent a cutting-edge treatment, which reportedly included genetic modification of blood cells, which helped Neill win over cancer. “I’ve just had a scan just now, and there is no cancer in my body, that’s an extraordinary thing,” he said, before adding, “I’m very, very excited that this can happen.”He is now looking forward to returning to the big screen. “It’s time I did another movie,” he noted.Further, after his battle against the lymphoma, Sam Neill is now advocating for CAR T-cell therapy to be rolled out across his native Australia. The said treatment is currently only being used in clinical trials in the region.

Sam Niell’s cancer diagnosis

In 2023, Sam Neil spoke publicly for the very first time about his condition. He was diagnosed with angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma in 2022. “I’m not afraid to die, but it would annoy me,” Neill said at the time.He continued, “Because I’d really like another decade or two, you know? We’ve built all these lovely terraces, we’ve got these olive trees and cypresses. I want to be around to see it all mature. And I’ve got my lovely little grandchildren.”“I want to see them get big. But as for the dying? I couldn’t care less,” he quoted.
