Yellow alert in Delhi-NCR: IMD forecasts thunderstorms for next two days; what travellers need to know

In a recent update, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow alert for Delhi-NCR over the next two days. The department has warned of thunderstorms, gusty winds, and light rainfall. It is an evolving weather pattern which travellers should be aware of as the weather could significantly impact travel plans across NCR. As per the latest IMD updates, the alert signals possible thunderstorms with wind speeds touching 50 km/h. Light showers are also expected in the beginning of Sunday which might continue till early next week. The advisory comes as a western disturbance influences weather across north India. This means today travellers can expect uninterrupted sightseeing and outdoor movement.Temperatures remain high but manageableTemperatures in Delhi-NCR continue to be under the summer range. IMD estimates suggest a maximum temperature around 37°C and a minimum near 26°C. Recently, the temperatures in the city crossed 42–45°C in late April. But the upcoming rain spells could calm down temperatures over the next few days. What the yellow alert means for travellersA yellow alert is essentially a “be aware” warning.
