Dileep Raj’s tragic demise starts health debate; Experts warn about viral heart attack claims

The sudden demise of Dileep Raj at the age of 47 has left the Kannada film industry and fans in deep shock. Before the actor’s demise, he reportedly experienced some pain in his chest area. Instead of heading straight to the nearest medical facility, he used his smartwatch to check his heartbeats and neglected the warnings provided by the device. This unfortunate event has now sparked a healthy conversation regarding heart attacks and the reliance on wearable technology for emergencies. Many fans and celebrities have expressed sadness over the actor’s unexpected passing.

Dileep Raj reportedly ignored chest pain

After news of Dileep Raj’s demise spread, several discussions related to heart attacks began circulating widely on social media platforms like WhatsApp and Instagram Reels. Many viral messages claimed that certain morning habits could lead to heart attacks. One such viral post mentioned advice allegedly given by a Japanese heart expert named “Banakoma Onako.” The message claimed that suddenly getting up from bed in the morning causes nearly 80 percent of heart attacks. However, medical experts have now clarified that there is no reliable scientific proof supporting these claims, as reported by Kannada Prabha. They also pointed out that there is no confirmed evidence that such a doctor or expert actually made those statements.

Experts warn against trusting viral health claims

Doctors explained that while blood pressure and cortisol levels naturally rise in the morning, there is no scientific research proving that suddenly standing up after sleep directly causes most heart attacks. Experts said elderly people or those with low blood pressure may sometimes feel dizzy if they stand up too quickly, but that is very different from claiming it causes heart attacks. Medical professionals are now warning people not to blindly trust viral health advice shared on social media. Instead, they are encouraging everyone to follow guidance from qualified doctors and recognised medical institutions.

Dileep Raj’s death sparks health awareness discussion

Dileep Raj’s tragic death is yet another reminder of the need to take heart pains seriously. Doctors pointed out that even though technology such as wearable gadgets could help get some basic information, they could never replace the need for proper medical attention. The doctors also mentioned that quick medical attention while having chest pain was essential to save lives. Moreover, doctors recommended against using online information, whether through texts or videos, as a basis for self-diagnosis.
