Dubai Airports update April 15: British Airways, Lufthansa stop DXB flights; Air India group continues limited operations

In a recent update, travellers flying through Dubai International Airport (DXB), one of the busiest airhubs in the world, are being urged to stay alert, after many international airlines have released updated travel advisories. The updates come amid the ongoing travel disruptions in the Gulf caused by regional conflict. As reported by Time Out Dubai, a number of global airlines have either suspended, reduced or cancelled their operations to and from Dubai. Airlines including British Airways, Air France, and Lufthansa Group have extended cancellations on select routes while Air India and IndiGo continue to operate limited flights.A look at latest updates from the airlines:British AirwaysBA has majorly cut down the numbers of flights in the Middle East. Flights to Dubai are now reduced long-term, with limited services expected to resume gradually. Some reports and updates indicate cancellations extended into May–June 2026.Air FranceAir France flights too remain cancelled to Dubai and other Gulf destinations for extended periods. KLMKLM has suspended all flights to Dubai until at least mid-May 2026Lufthansa Group (includes Swiss, Austrian, Brussels Airlines)The group suspended flights to Dubai and other UAE cities.Cathay PacificAll flights are cancelled to and from Dubai until at least end-April 2026.FinnairFlights to Dubai have been temporarily suspended.IndiGoIndiGo too has stopped operations on many Middle East routes. The airline continues to operate selectively.Air India GroupAir India and Air India Express continue to operate limited flights. In its latest advisory, the airline mentioned,“Air India and Air India Express will continue to operate select services to and from the West Asia region on 15 April 2026, in line with regulatory approvals. Customers are advised to check flight status on respective websites or mobile app before heading to the airport. Our teams remain available to assist.”UAE-based carriers including Emirates, flydubai, Etihad Airways and Air Arabia are continuing operations on reduced schedules, gradually restoring flights. Amid all this, the safety of passengers remains the priority. The main motive of running the flights is to clear the passenger backlog.
