Dubai International Airport (DXB) slowly restores flight operations after temporary suspension; passengers urged to verify airline updates

In a recent update, flights operations at Dubai International Airport (DXB), which were temporarily suspended earlier this morning, are now gradually resuming to selected destinations. The update was shared by the airport on X. It reads,Flights to and from DXB are gradually resuming to selected destinations, following the temporary suspension implemented as a precautionary measure. Please check with your airlines for the latest updates regarding your flights.Travellers are advised to check directly with their airlines for the current information on their flights.What happenedOn the morning of March 16, a drone-related incident created a fire near the airport due to which the flight operations were disrupted. As per officials, a drone reportedly struck a fuel tank close to the airport. It prompted emergency response teams to act quickly. Authorities had to temporarily pause flight operations for passenger and staff safety. Dubai Civil Defence teams were deployed and the fire was contained. Later, authorities confirmed that no injuries were reported.Because of this, global travel networks got disturbed and some aircraft that were already flying to Dubai were diverted to alternative airports while some were forced to return. As per reports some international flights were turned back mid way following the sudden closure of the DBX.But now the airport authorities have confirmed that they are restoring operations in phases. Flights to and from DXB are being resumed gradually to select destinations. Major carriers, including Emirates, have also begun restoring limited operations amid the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.Travellers attention:

Travellers are advised to remain alert Verify flight status and leave for the airport only if you have a confirmed ticketExpect delays, cancellations depending on operational conditions The disruption comes amid increasing regional tensions in the Middle East. Multiple travel and aviation advisories along with temporary airspace restrictions across myriad countries have been released in recent weeks. These developments have led to flight cancellations and rerouting across Europe, Asia, and the Gulf.As of now, passengers are urged to stay updated.
