Hashmatullah Shahidi to lead Afghanistan in one-off Test and ODI series against India - check full squad

Hashmatullah Shahidi was on Tuesday named captain of the Afghanistan squad for the one-off Test and three-match ODI series against India from June 6 to 20.The ODI squad includes players such as Rashid Khan, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Ibrahim Zadran. For the Test match, Afghanistan have picked a mix of experienced and young players. Rahmat Shah, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Azmatullah Omarzai will form the main batting group.Wicketkeepers Afsar Zazai and Ikram Alikhil have also been selected, while the spin attack will feature Sharafudin Ashraf and Qais Ahmad.The pace bowling department will be led by Bilal Sami, Zia Sharifi and Saleem Safi.Afghanistan have gone with a slightly different combination in the ODI squad, recalling experienced players Mohammad Nabi and Rashid Khan.Young opener Ibrahim Zadran, Sediqullah Atal and Darwish Rasooli strengthen the batting line-up, while AM Ghazanfar and Bilal Sami add depth to the bowling attack.Young spinner AM Ghazanfar earned his place after his IPL performances for Mumbai Indians, where he took 15 wickets in 11 matches.Afghanistan will begin the tour with the one-off Test in New Chandigarh from June 6 to 10.The ODI series will start in Dharamsala on June 14.
