The Consulate General of India, Dubai has released an advisory to Indian citizens stranded in the UAE as flights remain affected due to the prevailing situation in the region and restrictions on airspace. Find the official advisory here. Details of the advisory: According to the advisory, scheduled flights remain suspended. Currently, scheduled commercial flights are not operating due to the regional situation and restricted airspace. However, some airlines are operating non-scheduled commercial flights to help repatriate passengers stranded in Dubai.

Authorities said details of available flights from the UAE to India are being compiled and shared online so affected passengers can track potential travel options. Passengers have been strongly advised not to go to the airport unless they have been directly contacted by their airline and have received a confirmed departure time. Travelers are also encouraged to stay in touch with their airlines for the most recent updates on their travel arrangements.

Charter and non-scheduled commercial flights available

The advisory also mentioned that there are various airlines that are operating non-scheduled or charter commercial flights from the UAE.For those who are interested to explore these travel options, they can check the availability through the official website of the concerned airlines. These flights are part of the efforts to slowly move stranded passengers while the airlines assess the operating conditions.

Visa fine waiver for affected travellers

UAE authorities have confirmed that visa fine waivers will apply to travellers affected by the airspace closure that began on February 28, 2026. Under this measure, the visas will be automatically extended and will remain valid until regular flight services resume. This measure is intended to ensure that those who were stranded by the disruption of the aviation services do not risk being penalized for overstaying their visa.

Hotels directed to extend stays without additional charges

The advisory also stated that hotels have been instructed to extend guests’ stays under the same terms and conditions as their original booking. According to guidelines issued by the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, hotels should not increase room rates or change booking conditions for stranded travellers. Passengers facing issues with hotel extensions have been advised to contact hotel authorities directly to arrange the continuation of their stay.

Assistance for hotel stay issues

In case travellers encounter problems with their accommodation while stranded in Dubai, they can seek help from the Dubai Tourism Police (+97146096239).Authorities said complaints can also be lodged through official channels if hotels fail to cooperate with the extension guidelines. Local authorities will intervene if required to ensure travellers receive appropriate assistance.

Alternative travel via Oman land route

Additionally, the alert advised anyone thinking about traveling by land through Oman to check the criteria for a visa beforehand. Passengers were warned that border crossings may experience congestion due to the high number of travellers exploring alternative routes.Apart from the Hatta Border Crossing, travellers may also consider crossings through Al Ain.Authorities advised travellers to ensure that drivers accompanying them have valid visas for Oman and ideally possess basic knowledge of Arabic to facilitate immigration procedures.
