Indian-origin investor defends Laura Loomer on 'Islamophobia': 'I had this face-to-face encounter...'

Indian-origin venture capitalist Asha Jadeja Motwani defended Donald Trump aide Laura Loomer’s take on ‘Islamophobia’ and said “feraing any ideology that calls for your murder” is normal and not phobia. Motwani said she had a face-to-face encounter with a young man distributing Qurans who told her on her face that he would have to kill her if she did not conver. Motwani said the inident took place in downtown Palo Alto. Loomer’s India visit to attend a media conclave in New Delhi came under much criticism as she spoke horribly against India and Indian-origin people in past. At the conclave, she apologized for her past social media posts and said she should have said some of the hateful things, though she maintained that she would not take back the words she said against the H-1B workers in the US as she stands for America First. On her ‘Islamophobia’, Loomer said Islamophobia was not real and the faith explicitly calls for the killings of non-Muslims. She said “everybody who is not a Muslim should really honestly be fearful of this ideology”. Loomer said Islam is “cancer to the world” and there should be no Muslim election politicians in the US. “All terrorism, for the most part, is coming from Pakistan,” Loomer said as she spoke about Pakistan.Loomer continued her anti-Islam rant on social media as Indian social media users reminded her that the Taj Mahal, which Laura said she was planning to visit with her fiance during her India visit, was built by a Muslim ruler. The social media rants triggered a major row as many Indian academics and scholars condemned Laura Loomer’s Islam hatred. “You are neither Hindu nor Indian. Keep your poison to yourself. I’m an Indian, and we love and respect all religions. Secular India it is,” Indian activist and professor Rakhi Tripathi posted reacting to Laura Loomer’s posts. “Read the Quran. There’s no such thing as secularism or coexistence in Islam. If there was secularism in Muslim countries, why are Muslim countries governed by Sharia? Do you want India to be a Muslim country? There are 207 million Muslims in India. Enough to conquer a country. Every freedom loving nation must wake up to the threat of Islam before it’s too late. Save yourselves,” Laura Loomer replied.
