Bumrah, slowly returning to his best form after a long stretch of white-ball cricket, would love to settle scores. Rajasthan, meanwhile, will again look towards the teenager to provide momentum at the top. What has impressed many people this season is not just Sooryavanshi’s aggression, but also his ability to adapt. Against Lucknow Super Giants, while chasing 221, he first played cautiously before exploding later in the innings with a stunning 93 off 38 balls.
RR assistant coach Trevor Penney summed up the youngster’s mindset when he said: “He’s very confident. He’s just so excited every day to go and play and practise. So, to be honest, we don’t really have to talk to him too much. He’s just in his little bubble. He practises hard and then, when he goes out to play, he just enjoys himself.”
