Lunar Eclipse 2026 is one of the most-awaited celestial events in the world. It happens when Earth comes between the Sun and the Moon and such events have long been associated with spiritual, traditional, astrological and religious significance. While there’s a scientific explanation to every occurrence, ancient Indian beliefs and religious books attribute some deep meanings to a lunar eclipse. Among many questions that arise during this time, one commonly asked is whether travelling is considered appropriate during a lunar eclipse or not. It is considered that eclipse periods are caused by the celestial shadow planets Rahu and Ketu. Not only travelling but eating, cooking, sleeping, or any unnecessary movement is advised to be avoided. Why so much stress on travelling

Chanting religious mantras during an eclipse is strongly suggested. Temple doors remain strictly shut and open only after the purification rituals which include bathing of idols and cleansing of the house.
