The screenshots, which remain unverified, surfaced shortly after director Buchi Babu Sana addressed criticism surrounding the film and its portrayal of women. The reported conversations have now triggered another round of debate around the film and Janhvi Kapoor’s character, Achiyyamma.

As reported by India Today, according to the alleged exchanges, concerns regarding Janhvi Kapoor’s role may have existed before the criticism surrounding the film became widely discussed online.
Janhvi Kapoor reportedly spoke about parents on set
One of the messages being widely shared reportedly involved a discussion about the role parents can play during film shoots. Referring to actress Sreeleela, Janhvi allegedly mentioned that the actress is often accompanied by her mother while working. She also reportedly suggested that the atmosphere may have been different if her father, producer Boney Kapoor, had been present during filming. Janhvi lost her mother, legendary actress Sridevi, in February 2018.
