Priyanka Chopra Jonas, who was recently seen in ‘The Bluff’, has frequently spoken about the deep bond she shared with her late father, Ashok Chopra. She also has a tatoo on her hand which says, ‘Daddy’s Li’l girl’. He passed away in 2013 after a battle with cancer, and his absence continues to be felt in her life. Priyanka is often seen posting about him even on social media. In a recent interview, Priyanka reflected on how he might have felt about her husband, Nick Jonas, and revealed that she believes her father would have wholeheartedly approved of her choice.While promoting The Bluff alongside Karl Urban, Priyanka opened up about her father and whether Nick would have shared a good rapport with him. She said, “Nick is exactly the kind of person my dad would have picked for me if he had a choice. You know, someone who’s a musician. My dad’s first love was music. He loved music. And I do really feel that my husband is a prodigy. I think he’s, for those who know him as a singer, songwriter or as a writer, who have seen him in the studio, it’s wild to see.“
The Aitraaz actor went on to explain that watching Nick create music often inspires her. She shared that she visits his studio whenever she needs a creative boost, adding that Nick “creates from ideas and inspiration, and he puts things together so beautifully”. Priyanka further reflected, “So that is one thing my dad would have loved about Nick. But more than anything, Nick is a very wise soul. I think he would have wanted someone like that for me because that ain’t me, I am not wise. The balance you need, the yin to your yang. That would have been a wish of mine, that my dad would have met my husband and my daughter.”Priyanka and Nick tied the knot in 2018 in Udaipur, celebrating their union with both Christian and Hindu ceremonies in the presence of close friends and family. At the time, she had spoken about how deeply she missed her father during the wedding festivities. In 2022, the couple welcomed their daughter, Malti Marie, via surrogacy, marking a new chapter in their lives together.
