Balasubrahmanyam sang 40,000 songs in different languages, including Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi. The statue was installed through the joint efforts of the Malayalam playback singers’ association SAMAM and the Swaralaya cultural organisation. The 10-foot statue was unveiled by Oscar-winning composer M. M. Keeravani. The event included many celebrated singers, such as Hariharan, K. S. Chithra, Sujatha Mohan, Unni Menon, Mano, Vijay Yesudas, and others. Seeing thousands gather with love, respect, and emotion… it truly felt like Appa is still living through every heart he touched.” He further thanked the organisers and singers who participated in the event, especially Vijay Yesudas, for bringing everyone together.
