Meet Siddhart, a topper who studied just 4 hours a day and scored 99.25%: 6 lessons parents can take from his stress-free routine

When we hear about toppers, we often imagine them spending long hours on their study desk with little room for any other activity. But now, a topper from Lucknow has changed the narrative with his refreshing words. Siddhart, a student of the CISCE board, scored a solid 99.25% in 12th standard. What truly sets Siddhart’s approach apart is how he made studies stress-free and fun.

Topper’s refreshing approach

While speaking to AajTak, the young boy revealed that he studied no more than 3 to 4 hours a day. So, instead of stretching himself with long, draining schedules, he followed a simple, consistent routine. He even made room for breaks, that too without guilt. Siddhart shared that he used to spend 1 to 2 hours watching his favorite shows on Netflix to unwind. Beyond academics, Siddharth also stayed actively involved in sports and was the vice-captain of his school’s cricket team. For him, the balance between studies, relaxation, and physical activity wasn’t a distraction, but the reason he could stay focused and stress-free. Stepping away from social media platforms, such as Instagram, was another one of Siddhart’s ways of keeping his mental health in good shape. Undoubtedly, Siddhart’s scores are exceptionally great, but the story behind his success makes him the real winner. And certainly, his routine didn’t follow anything fancy, so, here are some lessons parents can take away from Siddhart’s inspiring journey to create a similar stress-free environment for their kids:

1. Focus on consistency, not long hours.

Learning doesn’t have to be exhausting, and long hours of study don’t always translate to effective learning. Encouraging children to study with attention, rather than forcing them to sit for hours, can lead to better results and less fatigue.

2. Breaks are essential

Siddhart took time out to watch shows and that helped him relax and stay refreshed. Parents need to understand that a well-rested mind absorbs and retains information better.

3. Hobbies are not distractions

Siddhart enjoyed cricket and remained active in sports while he prepared for the boards. Parents must acknowledge hobbies as complementary, rather than a distraction.

4. Guide digital habits

Siddhart didn’t totally ban social media for himself, he instead made a conscious choice of avoiding it when he felt the need. Thus, instead of strict restrictions, helping children develop self-control and awareness around screen time is more effective in the long run.

5. Stress-free environment at home

Siddhart shared that whenever he felt even the slightest bit of stress, he used to turn to his parents and teachers. When children don’t feel the pressure of being judged about their vulnerabilities, they are more likely to stay motivated and confident. Parents must ensure to create a supporting environment at home.

6. The right peer group

Siddharth’s journey also highlights the importance of the company children keep. One of his close friends scored 99.75%, and now both the boys are preparing for CLAT. For parents, it’s a reminder to encourage healthy friendships, where children can grow and learn while they enjoy friendships.
