According to USA Today, Tom Holland spoke about the role alcohol once played in his life and why he decided to stop drinking. The actor said his work and the pressure of living in the public eye became harder when alcohol was part of the picture.“Drinking was something that was ultimately really getting in the way of my professional life. Being an actor and living your life on the big stage can be really stressful. And I think that alcohol, for me personally, really compounded that issue. And, since getting rid of the booze and feeling more like myself and waking up clear-headed every day and fresh to start the day, I just feel so much more confident in myself as who I am as a person,” he told USA Today.Holland had earlier spoken about his relationship with alcohol on the Jay Shetty Podcast in 2023. He said the first month after quitting was more difficult than he expected. The cravings made him realize that he had developed an unhealthy dependence on alcohol.

Holland believes such an option would have helped him during the early months of quitting. The 29-year-old actor said he does not want to force sobriety on anyone.
