They revealed that Dietz left for his heavenly abode on June 7, stating that “We are utterly heartbroken to let you know that on Sunday, June 7th, we lost our dear friend and manager, Trevor.”Further ahead, they shared an emotional statement, saying that he was a close friend of theirs and that he cared deeply for all of them. “He cared passionately for us and for what was fair and right in the wider world. He was fearless in his beliefs. We will miss him always,” they added. The band concluded the post by asking fans for respect and privacy at the time. No other details about his passing were shared with the public.

More about Trevor Dietz

The famed manager was a regular face for Fontaines D.C. fans and was a loved honorary member of the Irish group. In 2016, he discovered Fontaines D.C. while booking artists at Dublin’s Workman’s Club. The band signed with him in the same year and then later released their debut album titled ‘Dogrel.’ The band was signed under the same label that also manages bands like Arctic Monkeys and Royal Blood, to name a few.In an old appearance at MIX Course in 2019, Dietz had opened up about what it was like to meet the group for the first time. He had shared, “I wouldn’t have worked with the band if they hadn’t had huge expectations and huge dreams. If other people had heard the conversation that day, they would have gone, ‘Jesus, these guys are nuts, it’s not going to happen’, but I knew we could go well beyond Ireland with this. So, first and foremost, you need a band that shares your vision and who are reliable, accountable, and honest.”Dietz had been with the group since he signed them exactly 10 years ago, and had continued on as a close friend with all of the members as well.
